I did not enjoy drawing this page.

welp, she blocked 2 of the 3...good effort nia
i was wondering for a moment what vincent would even do, but there's my answer
fight scenes are the hardest to write and draw

I like the full on punch on the last panel. Do did a good job making it feel like it would hurt.

The look on her face sells it.

Quick question: can the fire even hurt her? I didn't think she needed to block it being the daughter of Lajos and all

Very hard to follow the action. The trajectory of the attacks is really hard to discern, and in the fire panel I can't even tell who's blocking whom. In panel 5 it's due to the weird perspective and the fact that the flames are just sticking every direction instead of following the movement. In panel 6 it's due to the attack being mostly off-panel, and the attacker being completely off-panel.

I'd say to use bigger panels for action sequences. Or at least zoom out more. Occasional close-ups are fine as accents, but there are no establishing shots here.

@Riaya: She is somewhat resistant to heat but that's a big jump to being totally immune to fire. Rather than having a passive immunity, it looks to me like she's able to consciously absorb/block flames that she sees coming (assuming she's the one doing the blocking in that panel).

Edit: This comment system is TERRIBLE. Why does a reply to someone appear at the end instead of after their comment?

@Kari: The establishing shots were on the previous page. Thank you for your critique :) There's nothing I can do about the comment section, unfortunately. It's up to SJ how they appear.
Fire and Meh

Well I'll be. There it is, a "meh" face while conjuring fire.

@Kari, I actually thought it was pretty easy to see what was happening 0.0 ... like.. I didn't even have to look at the panels long.

btw, I like this page! =D

Previous page didn't once show the ground, and the previous page also isn't visible on this page, which I think is why it's really hard for me to imagine where anyone is in relation to each-other.

Maybe you were trying to communicate Nia's feeling of being overwhelmed and not being able to keep track of everything in a fight? If so, it didn't work on me because it wasn't obvious that it was intentional on your part.

Please don't think I'm complaining, I really like the comic! Also the last panel is perfect: the way every panel is zoomed in as a close-up, despite making for a pretty confusing fight scene, really sets up the (literal) punch-line of "she didn't see that coming."

@ParadoxComic: Smack Jeeves comment replies have been updated almost 2 years ago to nest replies below the relevant comments, but customized layouts couldn't be updated. You'll have to either pick a default one and edit your changes back into it, or add the indented reply comment code into what you have now.

@The_mad_one: I'll see what I can do! I don't know coding at all, so this will be a fun mess.

@Kari: thank you :)
